Marvin Gaye Sexual Healing for Throwback Thursday

Marvin Gaye is one of the greatest R&B singers of all time. Gaye released an unprecedented 17 studio albums between 1961 to 1982. During that time, he also dropped six collaborative albums. On April 1^st of 1984 his life was taken away by his father. Despite being gone for 40 years his music and legacy is still intact. There have been four albums released posthumously ever since his passing. My playlist this week consisted of a mixtape that featured a lot of old-school classic records. One of those records came from Marvin Gaye and his smash hit Sexual Healing. Sexual Healing appeared on his final album, Midnight Love. Midnight Love would eventually go triple platinum and showed how great Marvin Gaye was. It says a lot about putting out classics like Sexual Healing on your 17^th album. Sexual Healing is my featured Throwback Thursday joint for this week.

Sexual Healing was the first single released after Marvin Gaye left his long time record label Motown. It has been called one of the Greatest Songs of All Time by numerous publications. The track won several music awards including two Grammys in 1983. Sexual Healing went platinum itself and appeared on the charts around the world.
