Geto Boys is one of my favorite groups of all-time. They were the first group that I became a fan of along with EPMD. We Can’t Be Stopped is the album that caught my attention and it received 5-mics from The Source magazine. Mind Playing Tricks on Me was their big hit and it has been called one of the greatest records of all time. This week, one of the albums that made my playlist was their Till Death Do Us Part joint. If you weren’t familiar with them, this is the record where Willie D was replaced with Big Mike. Till Death Do Us Part was the Geto Boys fourth album and it’s probably my favorite one. Big Mike fit into the group perfectly and this album is a classic in my opinion. The Geto Boys released an unprecedented four videos for this album.
Six Feet Deep, Crooked Officer, Street Life and Straight Gangstarism were the songs with videos. Six Feet Deep is one of my favorite songs by the Geto Boys and it’s my featured Throwback Thursday track. Six Feet Deep sampled the legendary track Easy by the Commodores. Check out the video above Six Feet Deep and let me know what you think about it. Scarface is currently on tour after doing his classic and much talked about Tiny Desk concert. Wille D is growing his podcast and it’s called Wille D Live. Bushwick Bill passed away in June of 2019 from pancreatic cancer. Big Mike released a pair of dope albums after he was no longer a member of the Geto Boys. Check out the track listing and stream link for the Till Death Do Us Part album below.
