The 90s have been known for their peak music. Whether it’s hip hop or R&B, the music is some of the best. The mid-90s were known as the second Golden Age of Hip Hop. During this time, slow jams were just as good as hip-hop. The mixture made its way to soundtracks like Above the Rim, I’m Bout, and many others. Another great soundtrack that came out was The Show. The Show was a film about hip hop music. The Show featured interviews from some of the biggest names in hip hop at the time. The Show Soundtrack, which accompanied the movie, turns 30 years old today. 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Mary J. Blige, Method Man & Redman are some of the featured artists. The Show Soundtrack would go platinum and was the #1 album after its release.
Live!!! was the first single from the album, and it was performed by Onyx. Live!!! was the censored title for Live Neguz from. Live Neguz was also featured on their All We Got Iz Us project. The track has minor success, but it was one of the standout tracks on the soundtrack. How High was the second and final single, and it was performed by Method Man & Redman. How High would reach gold status, and it was the first official release from Method Man & Redman as a duo. The Show Soundtrack is one of my favorite soundtracks ever. Unfortunately, it’s not on any streaming platform, but I’ve got the physical CD. Check out the top 5 tracks from The Show Soundtrack. After that, check out the track listing for the Show Soundtrack.
