Master P is one of the biggest hustlers the rap game has ever seen. Master P released his first album, called Get Away Clean, back in 1991. In his career, P released a total of 14 albums and didn’t get his big break until 1996. Ice Cream Man was the album, and it became his first platinum project. From there, Master P and No Limit Records would become one of my favorite hip-hop record labels ever. The following year, Master P released his Ghetto D joint, and it sold almost four million records. P was that dude during this time, and it opened the door for a lot of his artists to sell well, also. In less than a year, Master P announced he would retire after his next album was released. MP Da Last Don was that album, and it was a double CD.
MP Da Last Don would sell over four million records, and it was a dope album to end his career on. The following year, Master P ended his retirement to release his Only God Can Judge Me project. Master P Only God Can Judge Me turns 25 years old today. During this time, No Limit Records was on a decline, but how was this album? Only God Can Judge Me featured the No Limit Soldiers, and Nas also made an appearance. I’ve always been a Master P fan, especially from 1994 to 1998. Only God Can Judge Me wasn’t a great album in my opinion. There were a few joints on the album, but nowhere near his previous releases. Overall, this was one of the weaker albums from Master P.
