Twista is known as one of fastest rappers to ever touch a mic. Twista was in the Guinness Book of World Records back in 1992. He was able to pronounce 598 syllables in 55 seconds. In 1992, he was known as Tung Twista when he released his first album. Runnin’ Off at da Mouth was the name of the project. In 1994, he was set to release his second album called Resurrection. During that time, Common Sense who’s also from Chicago released his second album with the same name. Twista’s version of Resurrection was only released in the city of Chicago and thus got little national attention. In 1996, his luck would change after featuring on the classic record, Po’ Pimp with Do or Die. The popularity of Po Pimp sparked interest in Twista from a nationwide audience. The following year, Twista would drop his classic album, Adrenaline Rush.
Twista would release a couple more singles, including So Lonely with Mariah Carey. So Lonely also appeared on the reissue of The Emancipation of Mimi album. The Day After would go gold, but it’s still a solid album. It became Twista’s second album to reach the top of the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Check out my top 5 tracks from The Day After project. After that, check the track listing and stream link for the album.
