Jadakiss got his start as part of the group, the Lox alongside Styles P and Sheek Louch. The Lox released two albums before starting their solo careers. Jadakiss dropped his album first and it was called Kiss tha Game Goodbye in 2001. In 2004, Jadakiss returned with his second album called Kiss of Death. Jadakiss Kiss of Death turns 20 years old today and it dropped Ruff Ryders. Just like his first album, the Kiss of Death joint went gold and was better received than the debut. The Lox, Eminem, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Mariah Carey, DJ Quik, and Pharrell all made appearances on the album. Time’s Up was the first single from the album and it featured the late, great Nate Dogg on the chorus. The up-tempo track is one of the many highlights of the album. Time’s Up was a great single to introduce the album.
The following single was the biggest hit of his career at the time. Why? was the name of the track and it featured the soulful Anthony Hamilton on the chorus. Jadakiss attracted some controversy and condemnation from the political commentator Bill O’Reilly. Kiss rapped about believing the September 11 attacks was an inside job. One of my favorite tracks from Jadakiss as it shows he can rap about real life issues. Jadakiss released a remix to Why? and it featured Common. U Make Me Wanna was the third and final single and it featured Mariah Carey. Once again, this was another great single from Jadakiss. All three singles that dropped covered different subjects. This is probably my favorite solo album by Jadakiss. Below are my top 5 tracks off the Kiss of Death. After that, check out the track listing and stream link for the Kiss of Death album.
