Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is one of the greatest groups ever in hip hop. They have sold over 50 million records worldwide and have racked up a ton of gold and platinum plaques. Bone dropped their Faces of Death project independently back in 1993. They were called B.O.N.E. Enterprise at the time, but that would change the following year. In 1994, they met with Eazy-E, and he signed them to Ruthless Records. The name became Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and you can say that the rest was history. Bone Thugs-N-Harmony dropped their Creepin’ on Ah Come Up album 30 years ago today. Creepin’ on Ah Come Up was an eight song EP, but it was an instant classic. Thuggish Ruggish Bone was the first single and it was released a couple of months before the album dropped. Thuggish Ruggish Bone caught my attention immediately after hearing the song.
It was different, but it was dope at the same time. The single went gold, and this was the first time hearing a style like this, but we all vibed to it. After the album was enjoying its success they dropped another single in February of 1995. Foe tha Love of $ was that single and it featured their boss, the late, great Eazy-E. The music video is notable for being Eazy-E’s last appearance in a music video before his death. This was another classic record from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and it helped the album go 4X platinum. Overall, the album was dope and it’s hard to believe it’s already 30 years old. Check out the track listing and stream link to the Creepin on Ah Come Up below.
