We are finally down to two teams remaining in the NBA playoffs. We have the Milwaukee Bucks representing the East and the Phoenix Suns coming out West. If you followed my Eastern and Western Conference predictions, you know I got this totally wrong. My prediction had the Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Clippers advancing to the NBA Finals in six games. The Phoenix Suns closed out the Clippers in 6 games in a hard fought series. On the other side, the Bucks finished the Hawks in 6 games also in another hard fought series. Can the Phoenix Suns and Chris Paul finally win their first championship? Can the Bucks win their first championship since 1974? Who will be crown the 2021 NBA Champion?
How Will Phoenix Win the Championship?
Phoenix has been the most complete team in the entire playoffs. Despite injuries and his bout with Covid-19, Chris Paul has been a man on a mission. DeAndre Ayton have had a dominant and efficient playoff run thus far. Devin Booker is showing why he’s one of the best young superstars in the league. The Suns defense have been top-notched that’s lead by Mikal Bridges and Jae Crowder. If the Suns continue to play the way they have, Phoenix will cut down the nets. Khris Middleton has played on another level when he gets going. Chris Paul and Devin Booker will probably be harassed by Jrue Holiday throughout the series. How will DeAndre Ayton contain Brook Lopez? Phoenix will have the homecourt advantage in this series, will this give them the edge? Can the Phoenix Suns finally bring home a championship to the state of Arizona?
How Will Milwaukee Win the Championship?
First off, the Bucks championship hopes will come down to the health of Giannis Antetokounmpo and his knee. We still don’t know the availability of the former 2-time MVP. Despite the absences of Giannis, Milwaukee had plenty of guys step up. Khris Middleton, Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis all stepped up throughout the East finals. If Giannis is able to go, how effective will he be playing on that injured knee? If Giannis isn’t 100% and plays, he could still give them good minutes throughout the 2021 NBA Finals. If he’s not playing most of it, Milwaukee is more than capable of winning this series without him. Khris Middleton will face a tougher defense in Phoenix. Middleton is an all-star for a reason and he’s one of the best scorers in the league. Can the Bucks win their first title since Lew Alcindor?
Who Walks Away with the Championship?
This should be a very entertaining series between the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks. Chris Paul is finally playing in the NBA Finals after being in the league for 16 years. Paul will go down as one of the greatest point guards to ever play. If Paul were to finally win a championship it would make his legacy that more prestigious. For the Bucks, if Giannis were to bring the title back to Milwaukee this will only enhance his legacy at 26-years-old. During his MVP runs the last two years, those runs ended in eliminations without a chance to play in the Finals. It feels like this Suns team is on a mission and there will be a lot of people cheering on Chris Paul to finally win the title. In the end, this series could go seven games and I’m thinking Phoenix finally brings home the title. Phoenix Wins 4-3
