Christopher Williams I’m Dreamin’ for Throwback Thursday

New Jack City is one of the greatest movies of all time. It’s certainly one of the movies that our culture has praised throughout the years. During the 1990s, there was a theme of having great movies and amazing soundtracks to go with them. Above the Rim, I’m Bout It, Murder Was the Case and Waiting to Exhale are just a few that fit that narrative. The New Jack City Soundtrack turns 35 years old today as it was released in March of 1991. The soundtrack reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for eight weeks. Christopher Williams and his hit I’m Dreamin’ was the first single off the New Jack City Soundtrack. I’m Dreamin’ from Christopher Williams. This is my featured Throwback Thursday track for the week. The song reached number one on the Billboard R&B Singles chart, Williams’ only song to reach the summit.

My playlist this week included Straight Outta Compton by N.W.A. and Street Life from Fiend. There were a couple of mixtapes and a personal compilation that I put together years ago. There’s a lot going on in the world today. We all know about the ongoing war with Iran and it’s something I’ve got a lot of questions about. Last weekend, the WWE had their Elimination Chamber event, and Rhea Ripley and Randy Orton came out victorious. The NFL is getting close to free agency and there’s been quite a few trades and player’s getting franchise tagged. David Montgomery was traded to Houston and Trent McDuffie was sent to the Los Angeles Rams. The World Baseball Classic and training have begun, and Opening Day is around the corner.
