It’s hard to believe that Christmas is only a week away. There were a lot of things going on this past week. Week 15 of the NFL season saw a pair of great games as the Rams defeated the Lions. The best game of the week saw the Buffalo Bills rally from a 21-point deficit to beat New England. Week 15 also saw injuries to a pair of the league’s best players. Patrick Mahomes and Micah Parsons both went down with ACL injuries that finished their season. In college football, Fernando Mendoza took home the Heisman Trophy. Mendoza is the projected No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft after leading the Indiana Hoosiers to their best season. John Cena wrestled his final match on Saturday’s Night Main Event. Cena tapped out to Gunther, and it has opened dialogue about it being the right decision.
In my opinion, this was the right decision, and the video of Gunther needed security after the event was proof. The entertainment world mourned the loss of Rob Reiner and his wife. The son allegedly was responsible for this, and the big news was the hateful tweet sent out by Donald Trump. Mick Foley, the WWE cut ties with the company due to their continued support of the President. I’ll just say that I’ve never been a bigger fan of Foley’s than now. In the world of music, Nas released his new album with DJ Premier called Light-Years. It was great to hear a project from Nas and Premier. Xzibit and his Restless project turned 25 years old over the past week. My playlist for this past week included Late Registration from Kanye and On Top of the World from Eightball & MJG.
Tha Last Meal from Snoop and Anthony Hamilton Ain’t Nobody Worried made the list also. 2Pac and his second album made my playlist this past week also. 2Pac has been in the news lately with the release of the 50 Cent inspired Diddy Documentary. 2Pac and his Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z. album almost went double platinum. The album was raw and one of the more underrated albums not only from Pac, but music in general. Keep Ya Head Up was his third single and one of the biggest hip hop records of all time. Keep Ya Head Up is my featured Throwback Thursday track for this week. The platinum single is one of the most important records ever in hip hop. With Christmas being next Thursday, this is my final Throwback Thursday for the year. Check out the video for Keep Ya Head Up above.
