Isley Brothers Between the Sheets for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to the month of September and that means fall is around the corner. Fall is my favorite season of the year due to the weather and football. The College Football season enters its second full week and you can check the lines here. The NFL begin their regular tonight as the Eagles host the Cowboys on Peacock. The game got a little more interesting after a couple of newsworthy headlines regarding Dallas. The first, which was the huge one after the Cowboys traded Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. Parsons and Green Bay immediately signed a 4-year extension worth almost $190 million. After the trade, Dallas signed DaRon Bland a 4-year, $92 million contract. In the music world, we had three albums to celebrate anniversaries over the last week. Junior Mafia and their Conspiracy project celebrated its 30-year anniversary.

Junior Mafia was the group the Notorious Big discovered and it began Lil Kim’s legendary career. The other two celebrated 20-year anniversaries. The first being Kanye West and his classic Late Registration album. Late Registration was an instant classic from Kanye that propelled him into superstardom. Tony Yayo dropped his only major label release with Thoughts of a Predicate Felon. The music that was played this week was Outkast Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, the new Ghostface and a couple other joints. My 2021 Valentine’s Day Mix was also played and it was a great throwback to some slow jams. The playlist is still in my Apple Music and has gotten a lot of play over the last few years. One of the classics on there is by the Isley Brothers and Between the Sheets. Isley Brothers Between the Sheets is my featured Throwback Thursday joint this week.
