Lloyd You Featuring Lil Wayne for Throwback Thursday

Lloyd You Featuring Lil Wayne for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to the final full week for the month of August. The weather is starting to feel amazing with it being cool in the mornings. It’s starting to feel like football weather, which is what I’ve been wanting. Speaking of football, the NFL kick things off next Thursday when the Eagles host the Cowboys. College football began last week, but there are a lot of great games this weekend. Speaking of football, the biggest news of the week came when Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift announced their engagement. Terry McLaurin ended his holdout by signing a new 3-year deal worth $96 million with the Commanders. Kyle Hamilton got paid by the Ravens when he inked a 4-year extension worth over $100 million. The baseball season is headed down the final stretch of their season. Kobe Bryant would’ve turned 47 years old on the 23rd.

Last weekend, WWE and AEW put on amazing shows. AEW had their Forbidden Door event with NJPW, and they lost a couple of stars due to injuries. NXT had their Heatwave event, and it was another amazing outing for the guys and girls of NXT. Apple announced they would release the iPhone 17 on September 9th. Ghostface and Offset released their new albums last week. Ghostface is one of the spitters from the legendary Wu-Tang Clan dropped Supreme Clientele 2. Offset was once a part of the legendary Migos released Kiari joint. King’s Disease from Nas turned 5 years old and it began his legendary six album run. My playlist this past week consisted of the new Gunna album, Ashanti and Pastor Troy. Lloyd King of Hearts was another album that was played this week. King of Hearts was his fourth album, but the Street Love project is my joint.

The Street Love album featured Lil Wayne, Andre 3000, and Nas. Street Love is Lloyd’s only platinum album. You featuring Lil Wayne is my featured Throwback Thursday joint and the album’s first single. You” became Lloyd’s first, and Lil Wayne’s second, Top 10 single on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, charting at No. 9 and becoming a radio favorite. The song also reached the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, becoming both Lloyd and Lil Wayne’s first number-one single on that chart. Check out the video for You above.
