Trav’s 2025 AFC East Predictions

Trav’s 2025 AFC East Predictions

The 2025 NFL season is upon us, and the season kicks off next week. Every year, I’ve offered up my predictions for every division. I’ll begin with the AFC East, which has been run by the Buffalo Bills for several years now. The Bills have won the AFC East for five consecutive seasons. Can the Bills make it six years in a row winning the AFC East? Will Josh Allen repeat his MVP performance this season? Can Justin Fields and the New York Jets turn things around with the new regime? Can the Miami Dolphins and Tua stay healthy and make a run at the AFC East crown? How about New England that’s lead by the 2nd year signal caller Drake Maye? Let’s see who’s my pick with Trav’s 2025 AFC East predictions.

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen was the 2024 NFL MVP last season. Allen eliminated a lot of his issues with turnovers and put together an amazing season. Buffalo made it to the AFC Championship game but fell to the Chiefs in an epic outing. The Bills continued to build a roster that could get them to the Super Bowl this season. Josh Allen did sign a huge 6-year contract extension that will keep him in Buffalo for the foreseeable future. After sitting out, James Cook received a four-year extension during the preseason. Buffalo signed Josh Palmer to a 3-year deal to give Allen another weapon at receiver. Allen and the Buffalo offense should be one of the better ones again this season. They took a chance by signing Joey Bosa to a one-year deal. Bosa has dealt with injuries, but if healthy it will be huge. Buffalo should win the AFC East again.

Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are one of the more dynamic teams in the NFL. The offense is packed with speedy guys who can turn a simple play into a touchdown. If the Dolphins are to be successful, the health of Tua Tagovailoa will be in the forefront. Miami did sign Zach Wilson as his backup and drafted Quinn Ewers from Texas. Tyreek Hill and Jaylyn Waddle are two of the best receivers in the league. They brought Darren Waller out of retirement with hopes of him still being the Pro Bowl Tight End he can be. The defense just needs to stay healthy, but they also brought back Minkah Fitzpatrick in a trade for Jalen Ramsey. Rasul Douglas was brought in to add another veteran to the secondary. Miami has all the tools to compete with Buffalo, but too many health concerns.

New York Jets

The New York Jets come in at third in my AFC East rankings. It feels like this franchise hit the reset button and it started with a new coach. Aaron Glenn is that new coach after coming over from the Detroit Lions. Glenn will turn things around, but it’ll take some time to get where they want. Justin Fields is their new starting quarterback after signing a 2-year deal with them. The Jets signed a couple of veteran offensive linemen for protection. They also signed Mike Williams to go alongside Garrett Wilson. Wilson is their clear No. 1, and they signed him to an extension during the offseason. The defense lost D.J. Reed but signed talent on the defensive line and at the linebacker position. The Jets will show signs of improvement, but I’m picking them to finish third in the AFC East this season.

New England Patriots

The New England Patriots made quite a splash when free agency began. They signed Milton Williams from the Philadelphia Eagles. Williams was an intricate part of the defensive line for the Eagles. The Patriots also signed Carlton Davis to add to a secondary with Chrisitan Gonzalez already. New England brought in Mike Vrabel to be the new coach for the team. Vrabel will bring toughness and the old school Patriots way. Drake Maye is their future at the quarterback position, and they are building around him. The Patriots signed veteran WR Stefon Diggs, and he should help Maye out a lot. For protection, they brought in Morgan Moses to fill their right tackle void. New England will have their moments and will be a better team. The Patriots will most likely finish last in the AFC East this season but are a much-improved team.
