Welcome to another week as we almost hit the halfway mark for August. If your children have returned to school, I’m wishing them a successful upcoming year. The NFL preseason officially kicked off last weekend. One of the biggest highlights of the weekend came from a kicker. Cam Little nailed a 70-yard field goal for Jacksonville, which would’ve been a record if it were the regular season. James Cook finally signed an extension with Buffalo yesterday. It was a four-year deal worth $48 million with $30 million guaranteed. The UFC and Paramount announced a blockbuster deal that would see UFC content on the platform. We lost another icon from TV, and it was Danielle Spencer or known as Dee from What’s Happening! Spencer passed away at the age of 60 after her battle with cancer. In the music world, JID and Gunna dropped new albums.
My playlist for the week included a pair of personal Pac & Big and Nas & Rick Ross mixtapes. Bun B Trill OG, Dayton Family F.B.I., and Blueprint III from Jay-Z were also played. My featured track is from the legendary Case. Case released his first album back in 1996. Touch Me, Tease Me featuring Foxy Brown was his big hit from the album. Less than three years later, Case returned with his second album called Personal Conversation. Happily Ever After was his smash hit and it’s my featured Throwback Thursday joint. Happily Ever After bumped the album up to gold status and it’s one of those love songs that’s featured on playlists. The track was featured on my Best of 90s R&B project from over ten years ago. Check out the video for Happily Ever After above. Below, you can check out the track listing and stream link for the Personal Conversation album.
