Clipse Grindin for Throwback Thursday

Clipse Grindin for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another week, as we’re already halfway through July. There has been a lot going on in the world of sports and entertainment throughout the week. If you’re a wrestling fan, then this past weekend was one for the ages. AEW held their All-In event in Texas, and it was great from the beginning to the end. The length of time is my biggest issue because my interest can only last so long. The WWE invaded Atlanta and held three events over the course of two days.

NXT began the weekend with the Great American Bash. NXT shows why they continue to be a must-see show by delivering an amazing PLE. Saturday Night’s Main Event followed, and it was billed as Goldberg’s retirement match. Unfortunately, the biggest news coming out of the event was the apparent injury to Seth Rollins. We’re still waiting for the severity of the injury.

The all-women event, Evolution 2, took place on Sunday Night, and it was an instant classic. All the ladies delivered, and it was capped off with Naomi cashing in her briefcase to become Women’s Champ. In the NBA, the Summer League continues, and Jalen Williams signed a huge extension. The extension by Williams means that the Thunder have him, Chet, and SGA under contract for the foreseeable future. MLB had its All-Star game here in Atlanta on Tuesday Night. The National League walked away with a 6-0 win over the American League. In the music world, Slim Thug, Curren$y, and Future all celebrated the anniversary of their projects. My Throwback Thursday for the week comes from the Clipse, seeing that they just dropped an instant classic. Let God Sort Em out was the name of the album, and everything was perfect about it.

The rollout, interviews, and the album were perfect, and this album has been played several times. We will go back to 2002 and their debut project, Lord Willin’, which sold a little under a million copies. Grindin was the first single, and it’s still one of the coldest joints they’ve put out. The lyrics were on point, and the beat is one of the dopest you’ll ever hear. Pitchfork ranked the song at number 27 in “The Top 500 Tracks of the 2000s”. The song was also listed at number 84 in Rolling Stone’s best songs of the 2000s and at number 281 on their top 500 best songs of all time. Check out the video for Grindin up above.
