Shai If I Ever Fall in Love for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another week as it’s hard to believe that we’re towards the end of May. Make sure you honor those courageous men and women who sacrificed so much during Memorial Day weekend. There has been a lot going on in the world during the last week. In the sporting world, we have started the Eastern and Western Conference Finals. I’m writing his on Wednesday morning and the Oklahoma City Thunder routed Minnesota to take Game 1. The New York Knicks host the Indiana Pacers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals tonight. The WNBA season has begun and it’s off with a bang. The ongoing rivalry between Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese sparked another beef in the process. If you follow sports, we have heard about the Ryan Clark and RGIII beef online.

I’ll reserve my comments on that issue, but it has shown the ongoing racial divide in this country. We also heard the unfortunate news about former President, Joe Biden and his prostate diagnosis. We wish the former President good health and hoping he can get through this. The final bit of news is hip hop and music related. The Diddy trial has dominated headlines throughout the week. We have also heard about the possibility of new developments in the Tory Lanez and Meg the Stallion issue. Ice Cube celebrated the 35^th anniversary of his AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted album. AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted was the iconic debut album from Ice Cube after he left N.W.A. If you love old school hip hop, you already know Snoop Dogg and Xzibit dropped new albums also.

My playlist this past week had a few classics that were played. Naughty by Nature Greatest Hits, Jadakiss Top 5 Dead or Alive and a personal 50 Cent mixtape made the list. The new Snoop album, AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted from Cube and the 504 Boyz also were played. My featured track is from one of my favorite 90s R&B groups. Shai hit the scene back in 1992 with their debut album, If I Ever Fall in Love. Shai was one of many standout R&B groups in the 90s. Jodeci, Silk, Jagged Edge, 112, H-Town, En Vogue, Boyz II Men, Next, and a few others standout. Shai and their debut album sold over two million copies.
