Welcome to another week as we are now in the month of April. In Georgia, we have hit records for pollen. Despite being two weeks into the spring, we are expecting some cool temperatures all next week. In the world of sports, the baseball season is in full swing. With the crazy start to the season by the Yankees, the torpedo bats have been the topic of conversation. In the NFL, the biggest issue has been the Tush Push by the Philadelphia Eagles. It seems like they are trying to ban the play, but things are still at a standstill. The NBA is getting closer to the end of their regular season and the playoffs are around the corner. The college basketball Final Four is set for the women and men and will take place this weekend. My music playlist was a little everywhere as usual.
Eminem’s Slim Shady LP, the Emancipation of Mimi, En Vogue, and a few others made my list. The new album from B.G. called the Freedom of Speech was also played this week. Freedom of Speech was his first solo studio album since December of 2009. If you followed B.G. then you know he served 11 years possessing a gun as a felon. B.G. was released back in September of 2023. I’ve been a fan of B.G. since he dropped Chopper City back in 1996. B.G.’s most successful album was his Chopper City in the Ghetto project back in 1999. Bling Bling was his smash hit and of course that term is used today. It featured the Big Tymers along with the Hot Boys. The second single from the album will be my featured Throwback Thursday track.
Cash Money is an Army is the track and it’s another dope record from the album. Check out the video for Cash Money is An Army up above. While B.G. released his new album on his own label, he’s been touring with the Hot Boys. As a hip hop head, this is good to see B.G., Wayne, Juvenile and Turk on stage together. Check out the track listing and stream links to both albums below.
