We are about three weeks away before the football season ends. The national championship game took place on Monday Night. Ohio State jumped out on Notre Dame early and held on to win the first championship in the new format. On the AFC side, the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Buffalo Bills with the Super Bowl on the line. In the AFC Divisional round, my picks were the Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens to advance. On the other side, my NFC Divisional round picks were a mess because Detroit and the Rams advancing to the title game. Instead, we get an NFC East battle as Philadelphia host Washington. Buffalo is the only team to defeat Kansas City this season in a meaningful game. Washington and Philadelphia split their games this season and both were good. Who advances from the AFC and NCF Championship games?

The first game on Sunday will be the NFC Championship game taking place in Philly on Fox at 3pm. Washington is the hottest team remaining in the playoffs. They have won seven in a row and Jayden Daniels continues to lead this team. Daniels is one of the best rookie quarterbacks we have ever seen. The defense continued to make plays when needed and they forced five turnovers in Detroit against the Lions. The first game they lost to the Eagles was one where Daniels was still dealing with a rib injury. The final score was 26-18, but the Commanders scored and got a 2-point conversion in the final moments. In the second game, Daniels threw five touchdowns and two picks in the win. Jalen Hurts went out early with a concussion. Daniels threw for over 250 yards and gained another 81 on the ground.
Philadelphia comes into this game winning 14 of their last 15 games. The one loss came against the Commanders on the road in Washington. Just like every team in the league, Saquon has put up great numbers against Washington in the two games. Will the defense that played in Washington or Philly show up? Daniels was hurt in their first game at home and C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected in the second game in Washington. The health of two key members of the Eagles will be huge going into this game. Jalen Hurts injured his knee in the game against the Rams and it affected him a lot. Hurts has said that he’ll play no matter what, but how limited will he be? On the other side of the ball, Quinyon Mitchell went out with a shoulder injury in the Rams game. Can they both be effective in this game?
Washington has been the talk of the league and deservedly so, they have won seven in a row and Jayden Daniels in amazing. Daniels has been protected by his offensive line, but they did get bad news this week. All-Pro right guard, Sam Cosmi tore his ACL in the Detroit game and will be unavailable for this game. This will be critical because the Eagles have an above average defensive line. Can the Commanders and Jayden Daniels punch their ticket to the Super Bowl in Philly? The injury bug got to the Eagles also and this will be the issue for them. We know that Hurts injured his knee against Los Angeles. Quinyon Mitchell also got hurt in that game and he’s needed against this Commanders receiving core. This could come down to who has the ball last, and it will be Washington, and they win. Commanders Win 31-30

The second game on Sunday will be the AFC Championship game taking place in Kansas City on CBS at 6:30 pm. Buffalo advanced to this game after a hard-fought win over the Baltimore Ravens. The game saw a battle between two of the top MVP candidates. James Cook continues to emerge as one of the better running backs in the league. The defense forced two critical turnovers against the Ravens also. The defense continues to make plays when needed against opposing teams. Buffalo is the only team that beat the Chiefs in a game that meant something. We know Kansas City lost their final game, but they rested players. The win over the Chiefs took place at home, but they must repeat that feat on the road. Can the Bills beat the Chiefs again and make their way to the Super Bowl?
Kansas City was the best team in the league all season long. Detroit, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Minnesota and a couple others got props, but the Chiefs were that team. The offense wasn’t its usual self, but the defense showed up. The Chiefs defense finished top 5 in the league in scoring. In their win over Houston, Travis Kelce proved why he’ll go down as one of the best tight ends ever. Kelce came through with seven catches for 117 yards and a touchdown. Mahomes and the Chiefs only accounted for 212 yards. Can they win with that same formula against this Buffalo team? Kansas City is healthy as they try to get back to the Super Bowl and attempt the first ever three peat. Can the Chiefs avenge their early season loss to Buffalo? Will the Chiefs slow down Allen after amassing over 315 total yards in the first game?
Buffalo had a top 10 offense throughout the season. They can throw the ball, run and put up points with the best of them. Buffalo averaged 31 points per game, but the defense will give up big plays. The Bills are dealing with injuries in their secondary. Christian Benford and Taylor Rapp are both questionable for this game. The Bills are already thin in the secondary, this could be huge as they try to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since the mid-90s. The Chiefs are on a mission to become the first team ever to 3-peat as Super Bowl champions. The officiating will be a topic of conversation when it comes to this team. This game will come down to the end seeing how great both signal callers are. In the end, it’s hard to pick against Kansas City and I’m not doing it. Chiefs Win 27-20
What do you think about my AFC and NCF Championship game picks? Who do you have going to the Super Bowl? Who do you want to advance to the Super Bowl? Leave some feedback below about anything related to the AFC and NFC Championship game or Super Bowl.
