Freddie Jackson was one of the biggest R&B singers to hit the scene in the 1980s. Jackson released his debut album, Rock Me Tonight back in April of 1985. Rock Me Tonight sold well over a million records. The first single was the title track and it spent six weeks atop the Billboard Hot Black Singles. You Are My Lady was the next single and it spent a couple of weeks atop the Billboard R&B charts. The Greatest Hits of Freddie Jackson was one of the albums that was in my rotation this week. The greatest hits album featured some of the biggest hits of his career. Freddie Jackson is still releasing music seeing he dropped his 15th studio album in May of 2023. It has been a while since I’ve listened to Freddie Jackson, but he really has some classic music.
According to his website, Jackson still tours today, and he has a show in a little over a week from now. As far as my Throwback Thursday joint, we are going with You Are My Lady. You Are My Lady was the second single from his debut album as mentioned earlier. Check out the video for You Are My Lady up above.
