One of the albums that was on my playlist this week was the Best of Method Man. The mixtape featured a lot of classic tracks and features from the legendary MC. These days, you can find Method Man on your TV screen rather than a microphone. Meth is most notable on the series Power Book II: Ghost, which is one of 50 Cent’s many shows. As we all know, Method Man is a part of the legendary Wu-Tang Clan. The debut from the Wu-Tang Clan is looked at as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. The following year, Method Man became the first of the Clan to drop his solo album. Tical was the name of the album, and in November, it will turn 30 years old. Method Man teamed up with Redman in 1995 and released the classic track How High.
How High was featured on the legendary soundtrack to the movie, The Show. The Show is looked at as one of the greatest movie soundtracks ever, and How High was one of the highlights. Four years later, Method Man and Redman dropped an album called the Blackout! together. How High was featured on the album, and it’s my Throwback Thursday track for this week. How High had a couple of versions released, and both are classic Method Man and Redman spitting. The track was so good and popular that it produced a movie with the same name. How High is a great track and a funny movie for those who haven’t seen it. Check out the video for the classic track How High. Below, you can peek at the track listing and stream link to the Blackout! album.
