Brandy Have You Ever? For Throwback Thursday

Brandy was one of the biggest artists in the 90s. She released her first album in the fall of 1994. At the time of her self-titled debut album, she was only 15 years old. The album won a Soul Train Music for best new artist in 1995. I Wanna Be Down was her big single as it went platinum. The track was so popular that she got Queen Latifah and MC Lyte for the hip hop remix. The album went 4X platinum and Brandy was an overnight sensation. In 1996, Brandy starred in her own sitcom called Moesha. Moesha was a great show, but she returned to the music scene in 1998. Never Say Never was her second album and tomorrow will mark its 25th anniversary of its release. Never Say Never is her best work and it’s just a classic R&B record.

The Boy is Mine with Monica was the big hit from the album. The Boy is Mine was nominated for a total of 8 awards. It won four awards including Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group. The single was so big that Monica named her 2nd album after the song. The track led to them having a feud that culminated in their Verzuz battle a couple years ago. My favorite track off the album is Have You Ever. Have You Ever is my Throwback Thursday track and it’s one of my all-time favorite tracks. Check out the video for Have You Ever up above.
