Boston Battles New York in Eastern Conference Semifinals

Boston Battles New York in Eastern Conference Semifinals

We have the other semifinal matchup in the Eastern Conference set. The Boston Celtics will battle the New York Knicks in the 2 versus 3 matchup. The Celtics will have a week to rest after finishing off the Magic in five games. The Knicks defeated the Detroit Pistons in a tough six game series. The other Eastern Conference series will see Cleveland and Indiana battle for a trip to the Eastern Conference Finals. Boston is looking to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals with the hopes of defending their championship. The Knicks reached this point a season ago before injuries halted their season and falling to Indiana. New York had their sights set on Boston, which is why they traded for Karl Anthony-Towns. Can Boston reach another Eastern Conference Finals? Can the Knicks upset the Celtics and advance?

Boston Celtics

Boston are the defending champions and built to make another run. Jayson Tatum has been one of the best players thus far in the postseason. Tatum led the Celtics in scoring and rebounding in the final three games. He averaged 36 points and 10.3 rebounds in those final three games. Jaylen Brown, Kristaps Porzingis, Payton Pritchard, and Derrick White can get buckets at any time. The Celtics are great on the defensive end also. They will have to throw multiple people at Jaen Brunson in this series. Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and Derrick White will most likely have that task. Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis, and even Jayson Tatum will defend Karl Anthony-Towns. The home court advantage the Celtics will have should be crucial. Will the Celtics continue their dominance over New York like they had in the regular season?

New York Knicks

The Knicks are coming off a tough and physical series against the Detroit Pistons. We all figured the series with Detroit would be a tough one. The Pistons are young, energetic and had nothing to lose after their turnaround season. Jalen Brunson showed why he was the Clutch Player of the Year after his Game 6 performance in Detroit. Brunson scored 40 points and hit the game winning three pointer to send the Knicks to the second round. Karl Anthony-Towns had his moments in the series but will need to play an even bigger role. Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Josh Hart all contributed throughout the series. They will all need to have their biggest impact in this series if they upset Boston. Can they upset the defending NBA Champs and advance?

Who Advances Between Boston and New York?

Boston swept the season series against the Knicks four games to zero. We know the postseason is different and this should be a great series. Jalen Brunson continues to show why he’s one of the top point guards in the league. New York has great defenders that could give Brown and Tatum problems. This series could come down to defense and it could possibly be low scoring. Boston and New York will also be a physical series. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum can take over a game at any given time. Brown can also defend anyone of the Knicks top scorers also. The Knicks and Celtics series will go about six games. In the end, Boston is prepared for a series like this and possibly another championship run. I’m riding with the Celtics to win the series in six. Boston Win Series 4-2
