Big Poppa from the Notorious Big for Throwback Thursday

Big Poppa from the Notorious Big for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to the final week of the month of February. The first day of March will be Saturday and that means we’re closer to March Madness. In the sports world, that means that spring training is underway, and opening day is around the corner. We learned about the passing of the mother of the late, great Notorious Big passed away on the 21st. Voletta Wallace was 78-years-old and she held down the legacy of Biggie Smalls after his passing. Two days ago, we lost the iconic singer Roberta Flack. Roberta Flack was known for her track, Killing Me Softly in which Lauryn Hill and the Fugees remade in 1996. My playlist this week had a few great albums that were played. Snoop Dogg’s Doggystyle, Atlanta legend Kilo Ali and his classic Get This Party Started made the list also.

There were a few other classics that made my playlist, but my featured track didn’t. With the passing of his mom, let’s put the focus on the late, great Notorious Big. The Notorious Big released his classic album, Ready to Die back in September of 1994. Ready to Die is viewed as one of the greatest albums ever and one of the classics to drop in 1994. The album sold over six million records and Juicy was its first single. Juicy has been called one of the greatest hip hop records ever. Big Poppa was the second single and this smooth track is one of my favorites from the Notorious Big. Big Poppa is my featured Throwback Thursday joint for this week. Check out the video for Big Poppa above and below peep the track listing and stream link to the album.
