The NFL Wild Card round concludes tonight with the Los Angeles Rams taking on the Minnesota Vikings. With the wildfires taking place in Los Angeles, the game has been moved to Arizona. The AFC divisional round is set with a couple of good games. The Houston Texans will travel to Kansas City to battle the 2-time defending champions. In the Sunday Night game, we will have the Buffalo Bills hosting the Baltimore Ravens. This will be the most anticipated game in what we believe will be the top two MVP candidates. You can’t go wrong with either pick because Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson have had special seasons. Buffalo is the only team in the divisional round that wasn’t one of my top 5 AFC teams before the season started. Let’s see who advances from the divisional round to the AFC Championship game?
In the first game, we have the Houston Texans heading to Kansas City to face the Chiefs. The game will take place Saturday evening at 4:30 on ESPN. Houston is coming off an impressive win over the Chargers. The Texans defense put on a masterclass forcing Justin Herbert to throw four picks. C.J. Stroud threw for over 280 yards while Joe Mixon rushed for 106 yards. Houston looked like the team we thought could challenge for the AFC crown. With Kansas City, they come into this game well rested. They sat the starters in Week 18 and had the bye in the Wild Card round. The Chiefs seem to be healthy as they begin their run to try a 3-peat. We talk about Mahomes and the offense, but this defense is elite. This could become a defensive battle, but the Chiefs will still win. Kansas City Win 27-17
We have the matchup we all are ready to watch. The Baltimore Ravens head to Buffalo to face the Bills Sunday Night at 6:30 on CBS. Baltimore beat their division rival, Pittsburgh Steelers in the Wild Card round. Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson combined to run for almost 270 yards. Henry finished with 186 yards and Jackson with 81 yards on the ground and 175 through the air. The Ravens defense has been top tier over the last couple of months. Buffalo has been one of the hottest teams in the league in the last month. The Bills blew out Denver 31-7 in their Wild Card matchup. Can this defense slow down Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry? Will Buffalo avenge their early season blowout loss in Baltimore? This will be a crazy game between two MVP candidates. In the end, I’m picking the Ravens to win a close one. Baltimore Win 34-31
