First off, Happy New Year to everyone out there reading this. I’m hoping your 2025 is full of blessings and health. There was a lot of music played over the past week and throughout the holidays. The new Kodak Black, Headz or Tailz from Do or Die, and The Life from Ginuwine. Enter the Wu-Tang 36 Chambers is called one of the greatest hip hop albums ever. The Wu-Tang Clan released the album 30 years ago, and it made it to my playlist this week. Not only did the album change the landscape of hip hop, but it also produced a lot of solo artists. Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface, and GZA went on to drop classic solo albums afterwards. The Enter the Wu-Tang album was eye-opening after hearing it for the first time. C.R.E.A.M. was their second single released after Protect Ya Neck.
The video for C.R.E.A.M. was grimy and one of my favorite ones to this day. In 2012, Rolling Stone magazine ranked the song number 11 on its list of The 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs of All Time. C.R.E.A.M. is my first featured Throwback Thursday joint of 2025. The song was voted number 13 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs list in 2008. Wu-Tang Clan released a lot of classic material as solo artists, but this is still my favorite album from them. Check out the video for C.R.E.A.M. above.
