Tha Eastsidaz G’d Up for Throwback Thursday

Tha Eastsidaz has quite the history as far as the group is concerned. In 1997, after Snoop Dogg left Death Row Records, he formed ‘The Eastsiders’ with Crooked I and Li’l C-Style. They released one song commercially ‘Feels So Good’ on the soundtrack for the 1998 film Ride. The group was briefly under contract with Virgin records, however no other songs were released besides a few other songs that were leaked onto the internet in 1999. In 2000, they formed again, but as Tha Eastsidaz with Snoop Dogg, Tray Deee, and Goldie Loc. After signing on to Snoop’s Doggystyle Records, distributed by TVT, they released their debut album, Snoop Dogg Presents Tha Eastsidaz. The album went platinum and the big single for them was G’d Up. Tha Eastsidaz was also featured on Snoop’s hit, Lay Low from his Last Meal album on No Limit Records. The group was moving in a major way, but Tray Deee went to prison after being sentenced to 12 years for attempted murder. Despite saying there will be another album from them, the group just released an EP. The EP is called Still Easty and they’re apart of the new Death Row Records owned by Snoop Dogg.
