Boyz II Men II Album Turns 30 Years Old Today

Boyz II Men hit the scene back in 1991 with their classic Cooleyhighharmony album. Despite debuting at number 58 on the Billboard 200, it went on to sell over 9 million copies. With their success, Boyz II Men released a Christmas album, and it went double platinum. The Christmas project came out in October of 1993, and it was a major success. Less than a year later, Boyz II Men released their third album called II. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 350,000 copies sold. It spent a total of five weeks at No. 1 and was the third best-selling album in 1995 in the United States selling 12 million copies in the United States. In 2020, it was ranked number 495 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. The Boyz II Men II album turns 30 years old today.

The music video received two MTV VMA nominations for Best Cinematography and Best R&B Video at the 1995 MTV Video Music Awards, but did not win.
