Mobb Deep is one of the greatest hip hop groups or duos to ever touch the mic. They dropped their first album in 1993, and the project was called Juvenile Hell. Unfortunately, the album didn’t do well, and they were dropped from the label. They returned for their second album in 1995, and it was called The Infamous. The Infamous was a dope album with a lot of great tracks on it. The album went platinum off the strength of hits like Survival of the Fittest and Shook Ones, Part II. About a year and a half later, Mobb Deep hit us with their third album called Hell on Earth. Despite only going gold, Hell on Earth is one of Mobb Deep’s best albums. Hell on Earth is known for their track Drop a Gem On ‘Em, which was a 2Pac diss.
The album had many bangers on the album and one of them is G.O.D. Pt. III. G.O.D. Pt. III is my featured Throwback Thursday track for the week. Mobb Deep not only beefed with 2Pac, but other greats like Nas and Jay-Z. Unfortunately, Prodigy passed away in June of 2017 after choking on an egg. Prodigy is one of the greatest MCs and we have learned that we will hear more from him. Havoc announced that he was working on a new album from Mobb Deep. Check out the video for G.O.D. Pt.
