If you follow hip hop, then you know there’s a lot of beef going on. Kendrick Lamar surprised a lot of people with his verse of Future & Metro Boomin’s new album. The song is called Like That, and he went in on J. Cole and Drake. Afterwards, J. Cole released a new album, and it had a diss track towards Kendrick on it. J. Cole apologized at his Dreamville concert and had the song removed from streaming services. The song was called 7 Minute Drill and the responses of him apologizing have been praised and questioned. Drake released a diss track towards Kendrick, Rick Ross and a few others called Push Ups. Kendrick Lamar has yet to respond to the diss, but Rick Ross has and continues to do so. While Ross and Drake continue to go at each other my focus is on Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole.
These two are my favorite artists from their generation and have been for a while now. For years, we were hoping to get an album from the two of them. Unfortunately, it looks like that will never happen. Before Good Kid, M.A.A.D City K. Dot dropped an album called Section 80. Section 80 was a dope album and one of the standout tracks from the project was produced by J. Cole. HiiiPower was the name of the track and it’s my featured Throwback Thursday joint for the week. Check out HiiiPower up above and give me your thoughts about it. Below you can peep at the track listing and stream link for the Section 80 album.
