2Pac Ghetto Gospel for Throwback Thursday

It’s hard to believe that it has been over 27 years since Pac passed away. Even though he’s been gone for so long Pac is still relevant today. There hasn’t been a new Pac album in over 17 years, but he’s still mentioned as one of the best. Last year, he was named by Billboard as a top 5 rapper of all time. Two of the biggest rappers in the world have named him their biggest influence. Those rappers are Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole and unfortunately, they are beefing with each other. One of his albums was on my playlist this week and many have talked about it till this day. Loyal to the Game is the album and it was produced by Eminem. Eminem has told the story numerous times about reaching out to Afeni and how Pac influenced him.

Loyal to the Game was Pac’s 10^th studio album and his sixth posthumous project. While the album received a lot of pushback and most recently Benzino stated it was awful. We know some of that has to do with his two decades old beef with Eminem. I’ll admit, the album didn’t live up to the expectations of a Pac album. There were a few gems on the album and one of them is Ghetto Gospel. Ghetto Gospel was first recorded back in 1992 and was supposed to be on A Very Special Christmas 2 compilation. Due to legal issues with 2Pac the song was dropped from the album. My Throwback Thursday joint is Ghetto Gospel and it’s a great record. Check out the video for Ghetto Gospel up above.
