Silk Lose Control for Throwback Thursday

We are moving along seeing we’re already in February of 2024. As always, the tracks featured for Throwback Thursday are songs from albums that made my playlist the past week. Last week, we went back to the 80s and Freddie Jackson and his classic You Are My Lady. We are going back to the 90s with another classic R&B track. Do you remember Silk? Silk was the group discovered by the legendary Keith Sweat in the early 90s. Silk released their debut album Lose Control in late 1992. Lose Control went on to sell over two million copies and they helped usher in a new Golden Age of R&B. Freak Me was their first single from the album and it was one of the biggest hits in the 90s. Freak Me sold over a million copies and spent time at the top of the Singles charts.

Silk had a lot of other hits on the album, but my favorite is the title track Lose Control. Lose Control is one of my all-time favorite songs of any genre. This song brings me back to a time where I dubbed this song on an entire cassette tape. Lose Control is my featured Throwback Thursday joint for this week.
