Daddy’s Hangout 2016 Week 8 NFL Predictions

NFL

Welcome to the 8th week of the NFL season as we’re almost at the half way mark of the year. It’s really hard to believe this season is going as fast as it is; I’m just baffled by that. Last week saw a much improved week for me with my record being 4-1. I actually predicted a total of six games, but with the Arizona-Seattle game being a tie I’m not counting that one. My overall record rises to 23-22, which makes me over the 50% winning percentage for the first time in a while. In the meantime, my overall winning percentage jumps from 47.5% to 51.1%. This week I’ll be predicting a total of six games with the hopes of improving my winning percentage. No really big news coming out of the NFL this week, so let’s get started!!

Jacksonville Jaguars NFL logoTennessee Titans NFL logoWe started with the Thursday night game as always that’s a battle of AFC South teams. The Jacksonville Jaguars takes a trip to Nashville to battle the Tennessee Titans. The Jaguars were talked about being a team of the future coming into this season, but it hasn’t happened. Despite having a 2-4 record, Jacksonville still have a chance in this division, but they need a win badly. On the other hand, the Tennessee Titans come into this game with a 3-4 record. They are a game out of first place and tied with the Colts, whom they just lost to last week. Can Mariota rebound and produce a great game on Thursday night? I think the Titans will rely on a strong running game to beat the Jaguars.

Tennessee Win 28-21

WashingtonRedskins NFL logoCincinnati Bengals NFL helmet logoThis is the game that’s taking place in London as the Washington Redskins take on the Cincinnati Bengals. The Redskins four game winning streak came to an end last week against Detroit, which dropped them to 3rd in the NFC East. Washington is having injury issues with Josh Norman and Jordan Reed in the concussion protocol. Reed missed the past couple of games and they’ll need him against this Bengals defense. The Bengals have had an atrocious schedule thus far, but they’re still in second place in their division with a 3-4 record. Can the Bengals continue moving forward with a win? I think A.J. Green will have a big game and lead Cincinnati to the win.

Cincinnati Win 30-20

Kansas City Chiefs NFL logoIndianapolis Colts logo NFLWe have a battle between a pair of teams I believe will eventually make the playoffs. The Kansas City Chiefs visits the Indianapolis Colts in what could be a playoff preview. The Chiefs are tied with the Broncos and Raiders in the loss column in the tough AFC West. With that said, they need to continue to keep up with those two teams by winning. Will the Chiefs pick up the tough road win? The Indianapolis Colts are coming off a tough road win against the Titans and looking to catch the Texans for first place. Indianapolis have been a really good team at home and with Donte Moncrief expected back, they should pick up the huge win.

Indianapolis Win 34-27

Detroit Lions helmet logo NFLHouston Texans Logo NFLWe have a battle between a pair of teams with QBs headed in opposite directions. The Detroit Lions led by MVP-candidate Matthew Stafford visits the Houston Texans. The Lions started the season 1-3, but have won three games in a row on the arm of Stafford. Detroit has one of the most dynamic offenses in the league and will hope to continue that trend in Houston. The Texans are coming off an embarrassing game against the Broncos on Monday night as Brock returned to Denver. Can the Texans rebound, beat the Lions and hold on to first place in the AFC South? I think the Texans will prevail over the Lions with their defense.

Houston Win 27-17

New England Patriots logoBuffalo Bills Helmet logoNow this is the game of the week in the AFC as the Patriots visits the Buffalo Bills. Since Tom Brady has returned, the Patriots offense has looked great and possibly the best team in the AFC. New England is hoping to rebound from their only loss of the season against Buffalo, which was the game before Brady was reinstated. Can the Patriots avoid being swept by the Bills this season? The Buffalo Bills was looked at as one of the top teams coming into last week, but was slowed down by the Dolphins. With LeSean McCoy dealing with his hamstring injury and could miss the game, which would be huge. Either way, I’m going with New England to beat the Bills in Buffalo.

New England Win 30-23

San Diego Chargers NFL LogoDenver Broncos logo NFLWe head to the Mile High City as Denver host the San Diego Chargers in a key AFC West match-up. Denver got back on track last week as they trampled the Houston Texans on Monday night. With reports that C.J. Anderson is dealing with a knee injury and his status for this game is unknown. The Broncos defense looked as great as usual and will probably pressure Philip Rivers all game. Speaking of Philip Rivers, I’ve always said that he’s one of the most underrated QBs ever, yes EVER!! Last week, he engineered a great comeback in Atlanta; can he do it again this week? I’m going with the Broncos to pick up the win at home!!

Denver Win 34-24

Green Bay Packers NFL logoAtlanta Falcons NFL logoWe head to the Georgia Dome as the Atlanta Falcons host the Green Bay Packers. The Green Bay Packers have faced so many questions about their offense with people questioning if Aaron Rodgers is declining. Last week, they looked like the same old Packers offense, but it was against the Bears so this week will be a bigger test. Can the Packers pick up the huge road win in Atlanta? The Atlanta Falcons have one of the best offenses in the league, but the bad news is they also boast one of the worse defenses. They Falcons are on a 2-game losing streak and I think they will end it by beating the Packers.

Atlanta Win 38-31

Philadelphia Eagles logo NFLDallas Cowboys Star Logo NFLWe have the Sunday night game in a battle for first place in the NFC East. The Philadelphia Eagles visits the Dallas Cowboys in a battle of rookie QBs in the House that Jerry Built. The Eagles are coming off an impressive defensive performance against the Vikings and will need to match that Sunday night. Also, Carson Wentz will have to eliminate the turnovers if they expect to walk out of Dallas with a win. On the other hand, Dallas is coming off a bye week and they will have Dez Bryant back for this game. With Ezekiel Elliott leading the league in rushing and Dak Prescott playing the way he has, they should beat the Eagles.

Dallas Win 30-20

Chicago Bears LogoMinnesota Vikings NFL logoThis is the Monday night game in a battle of the NFC North as the Minnesota Vikings visit the Chicago Bears. The Minnesota Vikings are coming off their first loss of the season in Philadelphia. It seems like they were exposed last week and injuries are starting to affect this Vikings team. Can Sam Bradford and the Vikings rebound to get back to their winning ways? The Chicago Bears have faced similar problems when it comes to injuries, but they’ll have Jay Cutler back for this game. With the Bears only notching 1 win, they need to turn things around right away. I think the Vikings return to their winning ways against the Bears.

Minnesota Win 26-17
